Dramatic Finale To The Philadelphia Open
GM Magesh Panchanathan took clear first place in the 2012 Philadelphia Open with a score of 7/9, half a point ahead of seven players tied on 6½ points.
In a dramatic last round finale, Panchanathan stood worse in his game but turned the tables to pick up a full point and the tournament victory.
The competition took place from 4-8 April at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel. In addition to the Open there were many other sections ranging from the "Under 2200" to the "Under 1000".
