Sensing the Danger - Examples from My Games

Sensing the Danger - Examples from My Games

Are you ready for a challenge?

GM Aleksandr Lenderman has designed a course for more advanced players that will help you learn how to sense danger. The positions he has assembled in this course should help strong players learn to identify the critical moments in their own games and develop a "healthy sense of danger" when facing those moments. It will be a mix of different types of problems, but whether each puzzle is strategic or dynamic in nature, most of the examples will highlight the missed opportunities. Never miss an opportunity again!

Here is what you will learn:

  • Try to match and improve on the play of Grandmasters!
  • Calculate complicated tactics!
  • Practice your chess judgment and new skills of sensing danger!

Keeping the opponent's play under control

The main idea in this problem is to find the best way to improve your pieces while stopping your opponent's ideas.

Consolidating an Advantage While Under Attack

Sometimes your opponent will sacrifice some material to try to get an initiative going against you. This example shows you how to stave off your opponent's initiative with some accurate moves.

Sensing Strategic Danger

In this lesson the idea is to learn how to sense strategical danger and how to come up with the right strategy against it.

Exploiting a Lack of Sense of Danger

In this example we try to take advantage of our lead in development. Sometimes even earlier than move 10 in a harmless looking position there are sudden opportunities available in the position.
2 Sfida

Punishing the opponent's carelessness in the opening

The idea here is similar to the last lesson, to try to take advantage of your opponent's careless opening play.
